Matamec - Excellents Drilling Results - Sakami Project
05/02/01 - VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--Matamec Explorations Inc. is pleased to announce the first results of a diamond drill programme recently completed on its Sakami property located in the James Bay area of Quebec. This first drilling phase was performed in March 2001 and consisted in fourteen (14) diamond drill holes totalling 2,713 metres (8,900 feet). The program was designed to test lateral and vertical continuity of several surface gold showings uncovered by Matamec on the shores of Lac Sakami and more specifically Zone 25.Follows are results for seven (7) drill holes collared to test
zone 25:

Results from the other seven (7) holes (collared to test other zones) are being processed and will be released shortly.
All samples were assayed for gold at Laboratoire d'analyse Bourlamaque Ltée of Val-d'Or, by conventional fire-assay techniques with atomic absorption finish on 30g sample. Assays grading more than 1 g/t Au were re-assayed with the same technique but with a gravimetric finish.
A second drill programme totalling approximately 3,000 metres (9,800 feet) is plan for next fall after the completion of a field exploration programme next summer.
